Buerschle

Seit ca. 1 1/2 Wochen haben wir Zuwachs. Irgendjemand hat einen Yorkshire Terrier bei uns ausgesetzt. Wir haben ihn erst einmal zum Tierarzt gebracht und er ist gesund, ca. 1 Jahr alt und wir haben ihn impfen lassen. Wiggles hat ihn akzeptiert, aber Luvi unsere Katze ist genervt...Ich habe ihn Buerschle genannt, ein typische schwaebischer Name. Fuer alle Amis unaussprechbar, deshalb nennen ihn die meisten hier Bruce Lee.

We have a new addition to our family. Someone dropped him off at our house. We brought him to the vet and he is healthy, about 1 year old and he got his shots. Wiggles has accepted him but Luvi our cat is having a "hissy-fit"...I gave him the name Buerschle, a typical swabian name. The Americans can't say the name. Thats why they call him Bruce Lee.

Sommerfest/Summer Fest

Gestern hatten wir ein grosses Sommerfest in unserer neuen Gemeinde in Seligman. Wir hatten eine grosse Wasserrutsche fuer die Kinder, Sticky Wall, Laser Tag, Face paining, tatoos (keine echten...), Essen, Getraenke, Bands, Kuchen, etc...

Es war sehr heiss und ca. 400 Leute waren da. Es war sehr viel Arbeit aber auch viel Spass! Wir hoffen, dass viele der Gaeste auch in Zukunft in unseren Gottesdienst kommen werden.

We had a big Summer Fest in our new church in Seligman. We had a Waterslide for the kids, a dunkin booth, Sticky Wall, Laser Tag, face painting and fake tatoos, food, drinks, Bands, cake....

It was very hot and about 400 people came. It was a lot of work but also a lot of fun. We hope that the people who came will also visit our service on Sundays.

Unwetter/storm

Letzte Nacht hatten wir starke Gewitter und Stuerme. Dadurch ist ein Baum umgefallen und auf unseren Van gestuerzt. Ich bin durch einen lauten Knall aufgewacht. Letzte Nacht dachte ich, dass der Van komplett kaputt ist...und Jim ist in Kansas City fuer die ganze Woche fuer eine Doktorenklasse. Aber heute Morgen kamen Glenn und Barbara, brachten die Kinder zur Schule und dann haben wir uns erst einmal alles angeschaut. Gott sei Dank, hat der Van nur eine kleine Macke auf dem Dach, da der Baumstamm genau hinter dem Auto gelandet ist und nur ein paar Aeste auf dem Dach gelandet sind.

We had strong thunder storms last night. As a result a tree fell on our van. I woke up because there was a loud crack. Last night I thought the van is completely damaged...and Jim is in Kansas City for the whole week for a doctoral class. This morning Glenn and Barbara came over brought the kids to school and we looked over the damage. The van only has a small dent on the roof, Thank God! The tree trunk landed behind the car and only the branches landed on the roof.

Warum waechst das Gras so schnell/Why is the grass growing so fast?

Es ist zwar schoen viel gruen ums Haus herum zu haben, aber das maehen...man ist gerade fertig geworden und kann schon wieder von vorne anfangen...

Mit der Adoption von J und M geht es auch voran. Wie haben nur noch 2 wichtige Termine und dann ist es endlich abgeschlossen. Sie benutzen schon unseren Nachnamen.

Meinem Bruder Andi in Deutschland geht es sehr schlecht, bitte betet fuer ihn. 

It is nice to have a lot of grass around the house but the mowing...Just when you finish mowing, you have to start again...

The adoption of J and M  is moving forward, too. We still have two more important dates and then it should be done. They have already started to use our last name.

My brother Andi in Germany is very sick. Please pray for him.
