Frohe Weihnachten/Merry Christmas

Jetzt ist ja Weihnachten fast schon vorbei, aber trotzdem: Frohe Weihnachten!

Neuigkeiten:

Seit letzten Freitag leben noch 2 Maedchen bei uns (3 und 5 Jahre alt). Der Sozialdienst konnte keine Pflegefamilie ueber Weihnachten finden, so haben Jim und ich ja gesagt. So hatten wir Weihnachten mit 4 Kindern! 

Heiligabend waren wir in der Kirche und danach haben wir alle zusammen mit Jims Eltern Wuerstchen und Kartoffelsalat gegessen, Weihnachtslieder gesungen und dann die Geschenke aus Deutschland ausgepackt.

Heute Morgen lagen dann die Geschenke von Santa Claus unterm Baum. Wir waren den ganzen Tag bei Jims Eltern und hatte eine gute Zeit und viele Geschenke.

Christmas is almost over but anyway: Merry Christmas!

Since last Friday we have had two more girls living with us (3 and 5 years old). The Social Services couldn't find another foster family for them, so Jim and I said yes. We had 4 kids for Christmas!

On Christmas Eve we went to the church. Afterwards we went home and ate all together with Jim's parents wieners and German potato salad. We sang Christmas songs and then we opened the Christmas gifts from Germany.

This morning the gifts from Santa Claus were under the tree. We then spent the whole day with Jim's parents and had a good time enjoying all the gifts.

Stressige Vorweihnachtszeit/stressful pre-Christmas period

Jetzt vor Weihnachten ist richtig was los...

Letzten Samstag hatten wir 2 Weihnachtsumzuege. Einen in Washburn und einen in Seligman. Wir hatten von der Kirche einen Haenger mit Stroh und Weihnachtsdekoration. Es wurde ganz schoen kalt mit der Zeit.

Die Maedels ueben zur Zeit in der Kirche fuer die Weihnachtsauffuehrung. J. ist ein Hirte und M. ein Engel (wer die Beiden kennt, passt genau!)

Montag und heute ist die Schule wegen Eisregen ausgefallen. Jim und die Maedels haben heute Morgen einen Baum auf der Farm ausgesucht, abgesaegt und nachhause gebracht. Jetzt muessen wir ihn nur noch schmuecken.

Heute Abend gehen wir in Washburn von der Kirche aus mit den Kindern Sternsingen. Am Freitag in Seligman.

Morgen hat J. in Karate ihren erste Guertelpruefung, sie ist schon ganz aufgeregt.

Before Christmas comes, we have had a lot to do...

Last Saturday we participated in two Christmas parades. One was in Washburn and another one in Seligman. We had a float with hay and Christmas decorations on it. Then it really got cold after a while.

The girls are practicing for the Christmas play at the church. J. is a shepherd and M.  is an angel (when you know them, that makes perfect sense!)

This past Monday as well as today the school was cancelled because if ice. This morning Jim and the girls went out on the farm to pick out and cut down a tree. We only have to decorate it....

In the evening we will go Christmas caroling in Washburn with the kids from the church. Friday we will go in Seligman to go caroling as well.

Tomorrow J. will have her first belt testing at karate. She is really excited about it!

Fuchs im Vorgarten/fox in the yard

Heute Mittag hatten wir einen Fuchs im Vorgarten. Wiggles ist gleich rausgerannt und den Fuchs verjagt.

Es ist kalt geworden, so um die 5Grad Celcius. Letztes Wochenende hatten wir unseren ersten Schnee, aber nur ein bisschen.

We had a fox in our yard this afternoon. Wiggles ran outside and chased the fox away.

It got cold. We have about 40 degrees F. Last weekend we had the first snow but only a little bit.
