Geburtstage und mehr/birthdays and more

Mein erster Geburtstag in den USA: Im Büro haben mir meine Kolleginnen 2 Kuchen mitgebracht. Das ist anders als in Deutschland, da musste ich etwas für meine Kollegen mitbringen. Insgesamt habe ich 5 Kuchen bekommen, 2 im Büro, einen von Jim, einen von Jims Eltern (siehe Foto) und einen von Ronda, einer guten Freundin. Meine Maedels haben mir Karten gemalt...

Wir hatten außerdem letzte Woche Kinderbibelwoche. Ich war für die 3 und 4jährigen zuständig, wir hatten 12 in unserer Gruppe - Stress!
Warum das Bild von den lackierten Fußnägeln: Wir haben "gewettet", dass wenn wir mehr als 150 bei der Bibelwoche haben, koennen die Kids das outfit von Jims Papa für den Sonntagsgottesdienst wählen (er musste orangene shorts, eine blonde Perücke und einen Hut tragen). Weil wir mehr als 175 hatten haben die Kinder Jims Fußnägel lackiert. Wir hatten aber noch mehr...da wir 200 hatten haben wir Jean, der Bibelwochenleiterin die Haare pink gefärbt, es kommt aber noch besser, wir hatten 210 und haben die Haare eines Teenager grün gefärbt. Wir hatten viel Spaß.

My first birthday in the United States: In the office my colleagues brought me 2 cakes. That is different from Germany, I had to bring food for my colleagues on my birthday. All together I got 5 cakes. 2 in the office, 1 from Jim, 1 from Jim´s parents (picture) and one from Ronda, a good friend of mine. My girls drew me birthday cards.
We also had Vacation Bible school last week. I was responsible for the 3 and 4 years old. We had 12 in our group - stress!
Why the picture with the painted toenails? We had a "bet" that if we would have more than 150 people at VBS the kids could pick Jim´s dads clothes for Sunday morning. (he had to wear orange shorts, a blond wig and a hat). If we had more than 175, the kids would paint Jim´s toe nails (see picture it happenned!). But that was not all...because we had more than 200 we sprayed Jean´s (VBS director) hair pink but there was even more. We had 210 and sprayed the hair of a teenager green.
We had a lot of fun.
